Module 5 Reflection

This module has helped me think about student-centered assessment in the following ways...

I have learned that student assessment has to be very specific in order to grade efficiently and without bias. Writing out my rubric was kind of hard because I had to break down every part of my student-centered project to realize what I was looking for and then had to word it specifically to eliminate bias. I also realized how vague certain words can be and how I didn't really see a problem with it before.

Module 4 Reflection

How can technology be used most effectively to support and assess student learning?

Techonology can be used to enhance student learning and assessment by providing different creative outlets to create projects. In the student sample, I allowed my students to create a song and music video for the metric unit. I believe that instead of having a regular unit test, the song and music video would have been more interesting and fun while still providing whether or not they learned the unit.

Also, excel provided a shockingly awesome way to assess how students are performing in different areas using simple function formulas. Student assessment would be made easier and more organized with the simple function formulas.
